Market Vs Location Based Emissions

There are two types of reporting approach under the GHG Protocol, market and location-based.
Location
The location (or place) based approach calculates the emissions based on the emission intensity of the local grid where the electricity is being used.
Importantly, this does not account for renewable tariffs or renewable energy guarantee of origin certificates.

Market
The market-based emissions approach is based on your renewable tariff or the specific emission factor of your energy supplier.
Selecting a market or location-based approach will apply across the Zevero platform and includes your electricity and employee commutes (where employees select renewable energy).
